Default Gas types

hey there, Im new here, i have a 1997 audi a4 1.8t. i was wondering if i HAVE to use 91 premium gas. i mean i know others work but the prices in arizona stink and is there a safe but cheap alternative. thanks

it is best to use the premium gas with a turbo engine to prevent any future engine problems I myself use sunoco 92 up in ontario we are paying pretty close to 1.00 a litre

yea, i dont want any problems yet. i wonder if anyone here has run 100 octane?

Why would you use 100 octane? won't make it any faster.

Do you live near a race track thats the only place I know where you can get 100 octane and there you are paying like 2.00a litre

I know, but he was asking if he has to use 91! so i assumed it wasn't modified. Run 100 in a standard car and you're just wasting money.

run 91 it is the difference of not going out to eat once a week the amount you will be saving, plus you can run into some major repairs the will be at least double what you would have saved...

Yes you will have to use higher octane gas, not 100, but at nothing less than 91. Or suffer the consequences down the road..
