General Information...Please?
So I'm not yet a member of this little "Audi club" that you all have going here but I'm hoping to be soon (that is if I decide that the Audi is the right car for me).
I live in the Bay Area of California and I'll be moving to San Diego in about4 months. I am look for a good, solid car that will be both enjoyable and reliable. I don't plan on using this car as a "comuter car" specifically -but I would hope that it would be reliable and safewhen driving 8 hours to visit family and friends during the holidays.
I love the look of the Audi A4 and the poeple I know that have them have assured me that they are wonderful cars. Here is what I have been searching for:
Audi A4 1.8T (anywhere between 2004-2005)
Automatic Trasmission
Under 45,000 miles
So my question, or rather questions, are thefollowing:
~Are Audi (the A4 in general) reliable cars?
~Can they handle the amount of miles I intend to put on them?
~I understand that the repair costs are more expensive on Audi's (it being a luxury car) but is it worth the cost?
~Are there any major recall problems you know for this vehicle?
Etc...?
*I understand that many of these are general questions and are totally dependent upon the car individually- but any input or feedbackyou have to offer would be appreciated.
Thanks and happy posting!

I'm currently driving a Jeep Wrangler (which I love and have really enjoyed) but I'm ready for a more quality/luxury car and i love the look and drive of the Audi A4. Like I said, I've heard good things from people I know but I was hoping for a bit more information. Thanks.
I dont have an a4 at the moment but have had a few without concern and a worthy car they are in quality and build ( much better than Mercedes and BMW ) but personal view only Ive had many of the others and always came back to Audi, dont know why but they are different and everyone has the others so no competition if you can understand that
Thanks. Yeah, that's what I've heard. And I agree, Audi is most attractive to me because it isn't your "typical" BMW or Mercedes.
Does Audi have a reputation of enduring mileage? Because like I said, I would be using it to visit family and friends during the holidays (an 8 hour drive). Do you think Audi would be reliable for this?

Well for reliable when you start reading all the forums like the rest of us you see ppl in the mid 100k mile range and it still runs strong as long as you take care of it like any other car it will last just as long as you'll still want it, my car has 80k and i am not worried at the slightest. The car is F**king awsome and i kinda wish taht i had more money to spend on it casue i deff have the modding fever right now. They are $$ but there are some many DIY on here and at AZ and AudiDIY that you only have to worry about the really un forseen stuff and any major brakage.
Buy it, Love it Live it.
