So I am getting a audi a4 1996 2.8 liter automatic soon. I want to make a little bit better when i buy it. What i am thinking of doing do it is tinting windows, chrome accents on the grill, new rims and a lowering kit. Can any of you guys recomend parts/stores for me to look at?

How many miles? You might want to save some money for maintenance.

Where is the car registered? I'll look up the tinting restrictions for your state. I can also give you some tips/advice on tinting - it's one of my areas of expertise.

Let me know and I'll PM an article I wrote on the subject.

pretty crappy...
70% all around NET and no visor bands allowed. Net means including the stock tint that is embedded within all auto windows. Audi windows have a stock tint of 88% front/side and 77% rear and rear/side windows. To stay within the limit, you could put 80% tint on the front side windows and 90% on the rest!! Therefore, it's Harrisburg's way of saying you can't tint.

I just noticed that NJ changed their law. Now you can put any % tint on the rear and rear/side windows; you can't put any tint on the front/side windows at all.

And Arizona, which was the most lenient, now requires a net of 33% on the front/side windows. Now, New Mexico is the tint leader = 20% NET all around.

Times... they are a changin'!

I never really cared about the tint laws....just got whatever I felt looked good. Never really had a problem either...maybe one or two run ins with the law.

Just out of curiousity...what are the laws for CT?

35% front and rear sides and any % tint for the rear window (these are all NET figures). Plus, CT allows a banner tint on the front windshield to the AS1.
