Default gettin new rims

i gotta 98' a4, 1.8t with quatro, sliver with the sports package...16 inch rims...had the rims since we got the car..need new ones cause they are showing age, and they are too small for the car. Im thinken about getting new rims in the summer and im thinking either 17 or 18's, not sure if 18's are too big, and maybe 17's still too small? Im more worried about appearence first than power (that will come later).
Heres the rims im thinking about..i dont like the chrome look on audis, so thats out of the question, and i like the sleek look of these (nothing too flashy but go good with the car):

Tell me what u guys think and what size? 17 or 18's? also i live in Chicago and during the winter..do i really have to change up the rims back to my old rims for the winter even if i am able to wash off all of the salt often off the rims?
And what about lowering the car..sometimes people get rims and the car looks like its sitting too high..how much if any should i lower the car??

Thanks a lot

For rims go with 18x8 and it will be good, lowering it is not nessicary but will make it look much better if so you can get springs and shocks like H&R/Bilstien combo that lowers it like 1.5' or somthing i dont really know the exact numbers but it will make it look really good

Yup, I like them too. Thinking about those myself or the AR1s.

17s or 18s, your choice. I have a B6 and I'll go 18. Get adjustable coilovers and dial them in. Watch your tire sizes so they dont rub. Do a search on the forum for what others hav done (tire size vs. drop)

DEFINATLY go with 18inch, Drop it 1.5 or so and you will be golden! Im soooo glad i went with 18s! Now i cant wait to drop it. those rims look good, kinda resemble mine a bit.

I say skip the 17, 18s and go with 19's they look asewome! Hey if youre going to make that investment do it right. I had my 19's RH Racing for a couple years now and I'm always turning heads..

Viva Mexico!!!!!
