GIAC chip & low end power
Hello
Regarding 2002 Audi A4 1.8T Q.
I’m hoping to get few responses from you guys regarding GIAC chip.
Would chip help with low end power?
In first gear, it’s like riding a bicycle (especially uphill stops) till it gets to around 3K RPM. It’s painfully slow, and annoying to a point where I’m thinking about selling my car if chip doesn’t help. I’m not sure if this particular problem exists only with my car or is it a common problem with A4 Q?
Thanks

The chip will not give you any more power below 3000 rpm.
But above that , its a different story. Its like a new car.
Once you chip it , and the turbo kicks in , you will forget about the second of lag.

the GIAC is known for aggressive throttle response but as said before, it wont do much until about 2500-3000rpms. lag is never fun.
IMO, do the chip anyway...the result should be extremely fun!

I have the same car 2000 1.8 t chipped. I felt the lowend power on the bottom of hills especially up in colorado. it boosts the horsepower 40-45 and you can definitely feel the difference when you accelerate and race at the track.
