If i got a GIAC flashloader, an dsomething happened to my car and i put it back to stock mode and unplugged it when it was being fixed would the ppl fixing it know about teh flashloader? If u get a a flashloader does something get added to ur chip or is it only the remote unit that plug sinto teh diagnostic port?

 

Pretty sure its just the remote. But Im not sure cause I have APR flipswitch
btw , which car were you planning on chipping? Your S4 , that you dont have yet ?

 

I am getting the giac flashloaded tomarrow. I would also like to know. i am getting charged $495 for the program. and $150 for the flashloader. $30 for the labor. what do you guys think. i am getting it install at momentum tuning in wallingford, CT. Has any one heard of them. i think they made the only mid engine rwd vdub around.

haha yes im planning on chipping the s4 if i can get away with it and not getting caught by the warranty company wen the turbos blow.
Also if i buy a car from a private seller can i go to a company have them inspect it and get a warranty. Cause i found a great deal but its a private seller.

 

if it's the GIAC 3x file your ecu comes programmed with three diff settings, (stock, pump, race) and the flashloader is just a cheap lil switch to change between the programs

but yeah those prices are almost exactly what i paid

 

so do they soder a chip into ur ecu?

yea i just got my giac chip done. the guy just plugged his laptop into the port under the dash. watched all the **** load. they dont even open your hood. they dont need to. i didnt pay 30 bucks for labor though ha.
