I'm being quoted around $495 +$50 installation fee how reasonable is that for a local instal place? Also what DV is recomended?

yea thats the right price for a 00 to 01 and your gunna need at lease a 710n dv if not a forge007 or something better but the 710n will work fine and its only $35

Agree. I have the 710n in for the last 60K miles since I was chipped. It works fine.

I took out my 007 and put in a 710n with no difference...

710N will do fine and is the cheapest upgrade you can do. Another good one, which is more pricey (aka if you ever plan on modding more) the Forge 007 which is around $120.
