Default Glove Compartment Question

Hello all!

i have a question about my glove compartment... here is the thing...

its making squeeeky noises when i go over bumps and stuff on the road... when i press on it while driving, it stops.. have any of you come across this before?

can i fix it myself? how do i go about fixing it? what can be/is wrong with it?
the car is under warranty, do you think i should have that checked out?
if i can fix it myself it would be awesome becasue i dont feel like dealing with the dealership.

thanks for all the help in advance![8D]

You could try spraying the hinges with silicone spray. Ventilate well. You said when you hold the door it stops, so I don't think it's the a/c heater vent fan.

Mine squeeked also. My problem was the rubber stoppers on the box was not making solid enough contact to hold the box still. I went to home depot and bought a little cork pad that you would put on the bottom of a chair so it doesnt scratch surfaces. Fixed me right up.

Mine does the same....right now I have a thick piece of paper shoved in the corner...under the lip so you cant see...I know its ghetto but I was trying to brainstorm a better permenant solution....

The problem seems to be more at the top of the box rather than at the bottom...whats this cork stuff??

I was thinking of putting black weather striping on the top to seal it...but I thought it might show too much..

Let me know what the cork stuff is and how it works out for you

Actually the one I used wasn't cork it was rubber, but same thing essentially. You could probably use these self adhesive felt pads too.
