sounds like i might need new brake pads since im getting squeeking when coming to slow stops/stops.

and im bringing it to the dealer for 35k maintenance

what kinda price tag am i looking at here?

I also have an issue where the car seems to idle rough, sounds like a diesel engine, which i assume is not normal.. and recently... i started it up and it when i put it in drive it sounded like it was going to stall for a sec....
also sometimes when im driving and accelerate/decelerate i get not a grinding noise, but a churning type noise...

these issues should be covered under my warranty

i just dont want to walk in with price shock.. and just get some of your opinions on the issues im hearing/seeing

thanks!

Sounds like it could be a belt flapping around. Last time my car sounded like a diesel the timing tensioner had failed and the belt was just flapping around. Luckily the belt did not slip or shred before I discovered the problem and changed it. Might also be bad lifters causing the sound.

As to the idle, possibly a vacuum leak, bad maf, bad icv, failing ignition amplifier, dirty plugs... i could go on and on...

You are on 35k? You should be under warranty then right?

update....

just got a call back from audi

the noise i heard at idle, almost like a diesel engine, they told me i needed a new water pump, one of the seals could have been making that noise.

here is the kicker.

they audi certified pre-owned warranty covers the water pump, but not the thermostat they had to put in, so now i gotta see how much that is going to cost.

thermostat should cost no more than $25-$35 bucks (www.ecstuning.com) - maybe more at the dealer. And don't let them charge you out the *** for labor on the thermo! There is no extra labor involved cuz the thermostat is housed IN the waterpump!
