Hi everyone, Im a new member, Ive been browsing the forums for about 2 weeks now researching specifically the b5 audi a4 1.8t quattro.
I found this car below locally and have a few questions on maintaining a high mileage a4 like this one.

Timing belt and water pump changed recently

My concern is the 146,000 miles and I want to know what kind of problems I might run into witha high mileagea4 like this one. I would like to change the suspension to coilovers and upgrade the turbo as well as add a FMIC kit. Besides that what major wear and tear items might I need to have replaced? I would like to set a good amount of money aside to keep it running reliable.

Looks like a good deal if it checks out mechanicaly. These engines go a long time. Arif (a member here/buddy) has 150k on his engine that is highly modified and it sounds and runs like new. As long as its been taken care of well, it should go another 145k. Double check on oil change history and fully synthetic oil in these engines is a must.

 

+1 Hey atleast you get ecodes and a kamei grille. Might even have a chip in that sucker.

 

thats a decent price.. especially if it just had the t belt and w pump done

i bought my car (looks the same as this one) with 130k on on for 7 grand


hm, thats odd
it has 99.5+ head lights and tailights (cant see the side markers)
but the badges on the back are in an older placement
