Default Is this a good deal? 2.7T swap...

I found this on eGay, I wonder if this is even a reasonible deal???[&:] I have no idea what an engine like this SHOULD cost, I've been unable to get any quotes... [:@]

2.7TT complete swap

Swap w/o turbo/mani/other easily replaced small things

I also got a quote of $2600 plus shipping on a 99' 30v V6, I am leaning towards that with a SC... Net HP is higher, about 280 advertised AWHP with the PES Tuning SC, but the overall cost would be higher as well... About 6-7k total...[]

Opinions?

BTW, Sorry for all the swap questions lately HAHA... I don't regret buying a car with a 12v, but I do plan on swapping it out eventually... I guess its just a little bit of the Honda-Head left in me. I was kinda figuring more people would appreciate the idea of a nice low milage shell with plans for a swap...

I dont think a s4 swap is possible or even worth the money if it was ive seen 12v to 30v swaps before id go with that rebuild the block with upgraded internals and you saved alot of time and pain of droppin in a new motor with a built bottom end =) Might as well do it while its out

sell the 2.8.. find a 1.8T and put the 10K into mods. that simple!

im sure you can find a friend to drive you for a few hundred miles. good roadtrip!

HAHA, if I had 10K extra, I'd just have bought an S4 outright...[&:]

A 1.8T swap is a possibility as well, they can be had pretty easily I'm sure, probably like B18Cs for Honda...

Will a 1.8T from, say a Jetta or something work the same as one originally from an A4? I'm assuming the 1.8T engine is probably the same for all GTI/Jetta/A4/Passat etc... Different mounts, harness, ecu, etc...

True or no?

Oh, and will my existing tranny fit a 1.8T? I know the gearing will be off, but a more long-legged tranny is not really a bad thing IMHO...

Yeah it will work. But i would stay with a the 2.8 motor, your car/chassi is already made for a heavier motor. Plus, its pretty much a direct swap if you think about it. Your trans will bolt right up to a 30valve motor.

its much easier to just biturbo your V6. or wait for my kit or something go here https://www.audiforums.com/m_182668/.../tm.htm#187090
PES ofers M62 SC while I will ofer M90, totally hiden. :-) unless you dont want a sleeper. I would suggest for stock engine, after tranny turbo, you dont have Quatro right? Just not rush, get all the facts contrast and compare then jump in.

I do have Quattro actually, and a sleeper is fine IMHO... Whats the deal with your kit you are trying to make? Give me some more info, I'm definately not opposed to keeping the 12v, if a good power making alternative can be had...

From what I understood, there are very little, if any, ways of boosting a 12v. I have not been able to find any info on a twin turbo setup, where should I look???

A custom SC was mentioned in your other post, you know of anyone who has one I could check out and speak to for more info???

Wrong. It has been done, done well, done numerous times. I say it'd be bad *** if you swapped a 2.7TT into your 12v shell. It would be more work, maybe more money than buying an S4, but maybe not, and it would be more fun, and then you could say you did it. Good luck with whatever you do, mang.
