Is this a good deal? 2004 Audi A4 1.8t quattro.
Sup folks, new here. Been doing some lurking around the last few months. Ive been in the market for a car here for a minute, I turn in my lease today. The A4 has caught my attention. I have been getting a bit nervous with the tranny and engine sludge issues I keep hearing.
But I found a 2004 Audi A4 1.8t Quattro with 71,000 miles for $15,500 at a local dealer. Any thoughts or advice? This isn't the first one Ive looked at, but this.car is in immaculate condition with somewhat high miles.

Sludge issues weren't so much in 2004 years as earlier B6 models. The 2004 came with larger oil filter that supposedly corrected the sludge issue from earlier years.
What tranny issues?
If you're getting any 1.8t with that mileage, you had better check for timing belt replacement. Or budget it to get that done immediately. Or you will have much bigger problems on your hands if it breaks.
Over all, that is a good price. Which sometimes makes me wonder.... what's wrong with it?

Thanks for the replies fellas. Heres some pics.. According to the dealer, most of their cars are lease turn ins. He said there was some damage that was painted but he didn't know what it was, kind of weird.
