Is this a Good Price for a '99 A4
Alright Guys, after a lot of deliberation, I've determined I would like to start off with an Audi A4. I've found a very nice car that I am looking at and was wondering if it is a resonable price. Below are the specs. Asking price is $10.5k:
The Car
1999 Audi A4
Quattro
1.8T
5 Spd.
112,000 miles
Performance Upgrades
-MTM Stage III Engine Kit (including: turbo air hose, fuel pressure regulator, ECV with chip upgrade, platinum plugs). Kit cost over $5200 to install
-Cold Air Induction Kit $300
-Koni Coil Over Suspension. $1500.
-Strut brace $150
-Cross drilled brakes in the rear $750 with average wear, and recently replaced brakes in the front
Comfort, Visibility, and Accessories
-Brand New Windshield
-Xenon Headlamp Kit $550 These are not simply aftermarket bulbs. This kit includes transformers on each side powering real xenon lights. They look great and provide excellent nightime visibility
-Recaro Racing Seats. $1700 It's rare to find a car with matching driver and passenger racing seats but this one has them.
-Custom Front Grill $150. LLTek european style grill.
-MTM badging on the rear of the car.
-Rear Spoiler $370
Recent Repairs and Maintenance
-New exhaust system from the catalytic converter back
-New windshield
-Recently purchased battery-Cold weather, high power interstate battery (less than 1yr old)
Tires and Wheels
-Summer Set- Bridgestone S-03 Pole Position Performance Summer Tires. 225/45/ZR 17. These tires only have 8k miles on them. They are mounted to 17 inch Mille Miglia Spider Wheels $650 with locking lug nuts.
-Winter Set- Bridgestone Blizzak LM-22 Tires with plenty of life left in them. 205/55/R16. These are mounted on the factory 16 inch wheels.
Good Deal? What else should I ask? How many miles can be cranked out of these guys reasonably? I plan on only keeping this for 2 years or so, then selling and getting a new S4. Will it have a decent resell if I only put 15k on it or so?
Thanks everyone!

That sounds pretty nice but the car isnt even worth $10k right now. Check the kelly blue book... in 15k, it will be worth even less.
Once a car reaches 100k miles, its value drops dramatically.
But with those mods... Its not bad.

c the problem is that should b lowered unless those mods were done by an audi dealership... Without certification the mods should make the price move down. I'd say 8k is a good price for it. i got my 99.5 a4 1.8t with 10,000!!!! miles for 10k.... so it might b a bit of a rip for ya.
you have to remember that in the real world, modifcations tend to bring prices down, rather than up. Saying that, the modifications it does have will cost a fortune to plonk on a stock car. So... it all depends on how it runs, etc. You should be able to bring the price down a fair amont... All IMHO of course!
I called a buddy of mine who sells cars and he said he wouldnt pay more that $5500.00 for it. imo its prolly worth about 7k. Check ebay for compairison. BTW my buddy said the milage was a $1300 deduction.
Hey I appreciate all of the input. I've been checking ebay and similiar cars are going for around that if not a little more. Sooo, I have been talking to this guy and I'm 100% sure it hasn't been abused. I am leary about the mileage however. Being that I wouldn't put too many miles on it, by the time I sold it, it would be about normal, still a little on the high side for the miles/year rule of 12-15k/year.
So, I'm a little unsure as to what to do. I would end up modding out an Audi if I got one anyway, this just seems to be a pocketbook saver as it will be a temp. ride. (Temp as in a year or two.)
Any more advice?
Thanks,
Russ
