Default Goodbye?

Last night I was driving home from work at about 55-60 mph and a guy pulls out right in front of me. I slam on the brakes and 2 seconds later...BAM! Drilled him. Hard. Both my airbags deployed and saved my happy-***. I managed to turn just enough to miss his driver's side door so both of us were ok.

Given the state of the car, I will be very surprised if it's not declared totaled. I'm truly going to miss my car as I've grown more and more fond of it over the past couple years. I especially love it now that it saved my life.

I'll keep you posted and will throw up some pics of the damage later this week. If it's totaled will I get another Audi? Probably not. I've got another kid on the way and I don't see two car seats fitting comfortably in an A4. I will tell you that crash test ratings (which I never gave much consideration) have quickly jumped close to the top of my purchasing decision criteria.

Who knows though, maybe they will tell me the car can be fixed and repair it all.

Glad to hear that you are ok. Cars can be fixed or replaced. If I had 2 kids, and with all the ******* drivers out there today, I would probably get Hummer! Good luck.

Glad to see that you are ok, cars can be replaced. That is one of the reasons that we got the audi in the first place, safety. As far as the car seats, we have a 3 year old and we tot her and a friend around all the time w/ two car seats, they fit just fine. Hey, Maybe you can get a car that everthing works on!

That really sucks but glad to hear you were ok. Were you declared at fault? Good luck on your new purchase.

haha. Nice. I'm considering a Pathfinder. Plenty of room, good crash ratings and well suited for the mountains and jeep trails. We'll see though.

Nope. Other guy was. Hopefully his insurance company doesn't fart around. I need some wheels.

That's good to hear. Sounded like a perfect chance for the other guy to try and screw you. Hey, at least he had insurance. You never know these days!
