got my muffler
well i finally got my magnaflow and got it put on today...looks great but it isnt very loud(hardly any from stock)..the guy at the exhaust place said i could take the resonator off but i dont want it to be to loud aka ricey. I was thinking about putting a magnaflow resonator on it to see if it gets any louder. What do you guys think?

RE: got my muffler
I took the mid muffler out of mine a long time ago because the exhaust note didn't change much and replaced it with mandrel bent straight piping. It was louder but not that loud and my milltek rear muffler makes it nice and deep. IF you still have a CAT it won't be horrably loud.

RE: got my muffler
or you could do like i did and just disconnect it after the cat and hang it up with a coat hanger. I did not to this to be cool or for any gains, i did it to **** of the other people in my dorm becasue they are a bunch of dumba***** who dont know how to park.

RE: got my muffler
but if I take the resonator out and replace it with a pipe, wont the car lose some low end power.Sandman its a 99.5 quattro and ill try to get some pics up soon.Audi12345, it only cost 60 bucks and thats with the pipe form the resonator back because you have to rebend it. The guy did a really good job and im pleased, I just wish it was a little louder.

RE: got my muffler
as I said i got my magnaflow muffler yesterday and it wasnt loud enough so this morning i took it back and got the magnaflow resonator put on to beef up the sound (100 bucks). I freakin love it now...it sounds so good....custom is the way to go if you ask me

RE: got my muffler
I bought just a magnaflow muffler as well. I guess I am going to have them take out the resonator and put custom piping straight to the muffler.
If its too loud i can always add in a aftermarket resonator on a later date.
Should I use 2.25 inch piping or 2.5 inch? My turbo is stock.
