Default Got a new error code...any advice?

Had my mechanic run the codes on my car (CE / EPC Lights came on), and here's one of the codes that came up:

P0011 16395 Camshaft Pos. Actuator Circuit B2 Malfunction (CAM Adjustment Malfunction)

I was told what this does (can't exactly explain it...lol) and that it's the cause of the EPC light. He told me that it would just cause a loss in power, and that it didn't need to be immediately fixed.

His advice was basically really generic and not very helpful. Can anyone give me more info as far as the severity of the problem, what this might do to my engine, and if I'm somewhat mechanically inclined can I fix it myself? Thanks...

LampyB.

Possible the timing could be slightly off.
Or a problem with your cam position sensor.
