Got a question for those w/ manuals...
I've been driving a manual since I bought my first car, and that's been a little while now... the head-bobbing phenomenon bothered me for a while too, but like Juice said, it's all about having a manual. Leave the smooth-shift to the autos....
i mean there are certain times when i shift so smooth that no heads bob but im usualy driving slow like bignate said. kinda makes u wonder why the drivers head doesnt bob. maybe there is a complelely logical answer but nothing is coming to mind.
Nah, there's just going to be head-bobbing when you're upshifting, unless you can perfectly match the RPM drop with the next ratio with the speed the engine is spinning.
Downshifting is a different story. If you're driving hard, you should be able to downshift without your passenger even knowing unless he's listening hard.

Head boboing is really easy to get rid of. Shift early. I mean really early. And make your clutch foot act like its in slow motion. It really helps to match revs when you release the clutch slow.
two things.. one, a drive train stabalizer (DTS) from AWE will solve ur bucking problem... there is no real support for our trannies like a crossmember or anything, awe makes one that firms up your shifts real quick, from what i hear, a snub does wonders as well...
secondly, have u ever missed a shift, and found yourself leaning toward the stearing wheel, subconciously, we account for our shifts, because we know when there gonna happen. we lean foreward when accelerating, and lean back when breaking...
somthing i noticed whenever i would grind a gear or mis a shift... somthing to think about or notice next time you **** up...

Dankhound is right. When its just friend riding in the car, I don't bother, but I usually drive really nice and smooth when I'm out with a girl or something. There will be enough head bobbing later anyway.
