Default grinding noise in engine

i just got an oil change and after that i drove up to my friends college (cortland) from long island, on the ride up everythign was fine, i parked the car havent touched it since yesterday. so today i took it out it was really cold like 30 degrees out and i didnt let the car warm up. i drove aruond for 5 mins then the oil sign came up, then the check engine came up and then a grinding sound started to happen. it would only happen when i wouldnt push on the gas that hard and it didnt make noise in neutral... if you have any idea please let me know hank you

pull out the dipstick and check of u got oil. it's the yellowish orange looking round handle. go check it right now, i kno it's cold and dark but if ur low on oil and u drive 250 miles, ur engine could be toast afterwards. so check it and see if ur friend knos anybody whoes pretty car mechanicy around the dorms and hopefully they can help u. another thing is, u could have engine sludge.

the dipstick has markings on it to tell u if it's low, high or in between. and inch i think is sorta low. well how was it compared to where the markings on the dipstick were? also, did ur check engine light flash or did it just come on once and then went off? if it was flashing, it means u have a misfire. if u have a 1.8t, i willing to bet it's ur 2nd cylinder that's misfiring. do u kno if there's an autozone or advanced auto in the area? u'll need to get ur fault codes read.

well, idt theres any of those around here for a while, all i know is that there was a yellow marking and then a another one like 10 inches above that, and the oil was like 4 inches below the bottom marking... and the check engine is not blinking its a steady light

there should be 2 yellow markings at the bottom of the dipstick that are like 1.5 inches apart that indicates low and high. and there's an autozone on 3839 West Road in cortland. (607) 753-7677 call them to ask a few questions if u need to. ur oil dipstick sounds rly weird. is there a way u can put up a pic?
