gts871R eliminator reliability
hello this is for all you gt2871 owners out there..Is your gt2871 reliable? Do you find yourself having to to work on it all the time and having to do fabrication?....im about 3 days from buying the kit....
Well not alot of people are running the 2871 quite yet so theres not alot of info. Basically look at it like this. A setup is only as good as the software. If the tuning bad ur going to have problems/
Its like audiboy said. the problem with all the KKK-elimins is the tuning for them Not alot of them are good. Now dont get me wrong a few set ups have the tuning down, but ATP sure as hell doesnt.
First of all, not every GT-series turbo is an "elim." The term "eliminator" refers to the fact that the ATP-developed GTRS and GT2X turbos bolt to the stock manifold like the K04 does, "eliminating" the need for the K04.
I can't speak from experience, but I don't think it will be exactly plug and play. If you are getting your kit from ATP, there's a good chance something will not fit, or something will be missing from your kit. There's a chance you won't be happy with your software. You will probably be changing spark plugs, O2 sensors, and vacuum lines frequently, because the ATP software probably runs rich, and that much boost will definitely expose existing boost leaks and probably create new ones.
You might be OK, and you might not run into any problems, but it is very, very possible that you will, and if you can't cope with them yourself, then you better have a wad of cash to keep running it back to the shop to pay them to figure out what's wrong with your car.
I think there's a guy on here, GraffixWB (?) that has a GT2871 setup. I think InsaneHatter is planning on getting one.
Like audiboy said, not too many people have this turbo. You can be the first one to document your experience with it.

The elim mani is out. There is nothing wrong with "most" of atps hardware, that is if they ship u the right stuff and odds of that are good. The actaul turbos are great, just need someone to tune them.
