Default h&r coilover question

how come sites that sell h&r coilovers don't list the 1.8T and the 2.8 separately? all i'm finding is "96-01 A4 Quattro"....is this because they're dampening adjustable or am i just high right now?

hmm, they should definately be different, because of the added weight for the 2.8L. Wierd! It makes sense that the 2.8 would work on the 1.8T... just be stiffer, and you adjust the height accordingly... but to put the 1.8T springs on a 2.8L would be wrong...

ok, so i went to hrsprings.com and the part # they list for my car is the part # that the guy has for sale....but that part # also comes up when you search for 1.8T....this is disturbing...but nevertheless, i'm still gonna buy these bad boys..we'll see how it turns out..

Indeed! That is sick dude... you will likely appreciate them more than I did... since I was sport to begin with.

Expect a few clunks... the perches and springs are metal on metal, with no rubber seat... so yeah, they can be noisy -- pisses me off actually... but whatever. The height adjustment was very important to me... otherwise I'd have gone with a spring/shock combo, for a quieter ride.

yea, i plan on taking this to the snow in the winter, and eventually up to canada (i'm still working on getting up there), so i need the height adjustment as well....and yea, i have the original, non-sport suspension with 140k miles, so this should be a pretty drastic improvement.

I would likely be happier with bilstein shocks with H&R springs than I am now... I hate the clunkiness! But whatever... I like the look.

I am scraping rather frequently... I hafta roll the fenders.
