Had to hit my brakes HARD today
For the first time since I got my "new to me" 2002 A4 about 25 days ago, I had to get heavy into the breaks today to aviod an accident.
I was extreemly disappointed, and almost had a heart attack, as they did not "grab" with any authority at all. They seemed very mushy and had no sence of urgency. I took it to a break shop and they said it has 50% or more pad and the rotors ran off within spec...
So what pad and rotor combo is out there that will cure this weak braking set up...Do I need to do the calipers too???
Peace

Get a BBK. StopTech or Brembo 335mm brakes, you'll stop a lot quicker when you slam on the brakes. Both kits prolly come with stainless steel brake lines and such but make sure. The only downside to this solution is that is costs a lot.
This question really depends on how much money you want to invest. You could probably get away with some aftermarket performance brake pads like Hawk. You may also be interested in some crossdrilled or slotted rotors. Check out Ecstuning.com
