Default Had a run in with a chipped 1.8 Jetta

so this kid that lives up my street has a jetta, he freakin drives by house all day long and lets his DV go off, and it got really annoying. i saw him driving out of the neighborhood one day when i was on my way out as welll...turns out we caught the first light when u turn outta my neighborhood...we had a run for it and i actually beat him by about 2 cars. my awd is definately what won me the race.

couple days later i saw his bro driving the same jetta. his brother doesnt like me, so i knew he would want to race me. we caught a two lane stop sign, we waited til we got to about 10mph to start racing, so my awd wasnt a factor at all.... it was pretty dead even. nobody really pulled ahead.

The car is chipped with a different intake and DV. thats all it has done.

so for all you 12v haters, they keep up with chipped 1.8's no problem... what do chipped 1.8's run?? like a 15.7??? cuz my car runs a 15.7 and i was dead even when awd wasnt involved.

1.8's run a 16.5 stock???

He was probably driving an auto. A chipped 1.8T will kill a 2.8.

I think they can pull off a little better than that but its not real fast, with a few things they will be easily quicker than a 12v if they werent already in stock form

well a 30v 2.8 runs mid 15s and a chipped 1.8t will walk a 30v so do the math (low 15s I believe) the jetta either wasnt chipped and I know he cant drive.
