Had a run in with a chipped 1.8 Jetta

...we had a run for it and i actually beat him by about 2 cars. my awd is definately what won me the race.
. we caught a two lane stop sign, we waited til we got to about 10mph to start racing, so my awd wasnt a factor at all.... it was pretty dead even. nobody really pulled ahead.

its not like u can launch that bad boy at 5k right?
and I would think that Quattro would have the advantage at a rolling start..
yea a fwd will launch better than a quattro in a dry situation, but its the slickery **** where quattro is king.. if we rev way high and try to launch without a stage 2 or 3 clutch theres usually more traction than the clutch can take and it slips a **** ton which isnt good but if the other person is retarded and revs way high and dumps and all they do is spin the wheels the quattro will eat them

Im a lil confused.. but I'd think quattro would be a disadvantage at full stop -

No from a dig awd is better as fwd wont have the traction. Typically a similar car with similar mods in awd and fwd form racing to top speed will kinda go like this. awd win 0-60 after that the fwd car will start to pull on the awd car to the finish. The difference up top depnds on gearing and weight. But as for stop light racing awd is king, unless you have a slick setup on the fwd or no power in either car. Stock awd doesnt make much a difference on the launch, but when real power is going to the wheels thats when it makes the difference. Point and case my fwd dsm vs. my awd dsm, the fwd on the highway could walk just about anything except a modded supra, but the best 60' I got was 2.0. The awd from a dig with alot less mods would have beaten the fwd 0-60 with ease.
SO if both are chipped, intake and what not, then awd will beat the fwd in stop light racing.
I really like that word, many uses
