headers and intake vs. Stage 1 Chip

Hi Guys,

What u guys think i should go for.

Headers and an intake (600.00 installed) or a stage 1 APR Chip ($800 installed).

Which way do u think Ill get more horseys????

Headers and an intake I would think is the best start, the chip is just a quick way to get power but combined it would be sensible for the best result

1.8T or 2.8. I'm assuming its a 1.8T. Get the chip. I don't know how it costs $800 though.

do you mean exhaust manifold and intake? if not the chip really dosent do too much for the 2.8

every little thing does a little regardless of engine size or valves so do what takes your fancy and good luck

im going with flyin if its a 2.8 go with exhaust but if 1.8 go with chip to see big gains then do exhaust after

if your talking about the 1.8 do the chip and turbo back exhaust there is no point to do a manifold with out a bigger turbo, the stocker does pretty well, but if your talking 2.8 do the exhaust cuz the chip wont do much for you

its a 2002 1.8T Auto tranny. Which will get me more horsepower????

We just told you...lol the chip will looking to get around 30-50 horses. do a search or check out the sticky my man posted at the top of these forums on what chip to get.

go with apr 1+ with the bigger injectors... u will enjoy
