heavey rain...not good
today was a not so good day for the audi..first it started raining crazy...in nebraska..(driving to colorado) and i mean crazy rain so i going 65..and 3 semis pass me....just showering my car like i dunked it in a pool...so the cruise shuts off..and the kicks back on a few seconds later...so then..it does this again..so i take the cruise off..same problem what happens is the rpms just drop to below idle, i go to press the accelerator..no response..brakes..nothing..then it comes back on..so i pulled over looked it over knew it was the puter becasue my relays where going crazy..so i had it towed..and they where puzzled..so i had them check my puter..they dried it off and let the engie run to get warm..which helped..so 30 miles down the road it does this again...and i am now pulled over at a motel...perhaps i could get alittle advice? but i am thinking that i just need it to dry out..because the airfilter took on some water as well..just a little in the casing..
I had something similar to your experience. I would have the cruise control on and the car would shudder and almost stall. The cruise would disengauge and the rpms would recover. Turned out to be a bad o2 sensor.
i dont think so..i am almost certian that the ecu just got wet..and that it didnt like that..that was my diganosis..atleast but i am not to car savy..but like i said when the rpms start going crazy...it either dies..or regains..but while they are in "insane mode" neither the brake or accelerator work..which isnt good..and the relays make a crazy chatter..but i determinted it wasnt bad relays so thats how i guessed the ECU..but could the ECU just getting wet make my car that insane?
Its almost impossible for the ecu to get wet, it in a sealed case under the hood, thats opened to the inside of the car, is the ecu was wet, your drivers side footwell would probbaly be wet as well
