Quattro manual is the way to go. I'd go with the 1.8tQ and then put a new chip.

Yeah, thats what i will plan on doing. Now i need to find one that is in my price range and such. I found a 99 1.8tq that was blue with the light (almost white) leather interior. It was in horrible condition so i had to pass. the colors were pretty freaking sweet though.

B5 1.8 doesn't come with leather. It is pretty convincing vinyl.

Serious? because every 1.8 tq ive seen "has leather". Oh well, it is pretty convincing. I found a blue 1999 1.8tq in arizona. It already has a chip in it and the sports suspension and tires. If i go with it, im in for a 15 hour drive.... Fun Fun

Haha who told u this this is the biggest bunch of BS I have ever heard haha and bTW dipshit how do u have a 97 30v when in 97 they wre all 12V dumbass

Also bear in mind that the later 1.8T's with fly by wire do not yield the same amount of power like the 150hp cars do, simple things like chip will not show up the difference actually the later car will yield more but when you change the turbo and thing that’s where the difference will be more apparent.

i.e. the 150hp cars with say 340hp upgrade kit (with G28RS turbo) will only show about 300hp on the later cars.

Hope this helps.

They are "leatherette". Many sellers, "inadvertently" call it leather.

Actually, it is very convincing, is lower maintenance than the real stuff, doesn't crack, and everyone not "in the know" thinks it is leather.

1.8t stays the same but the 2.8 goes from 24 to 30 valve. I've had both before and after and...even if it was just my mind, the 1999.5 2.8 was dream compared to the earlier, and blew away the stock 1.8t
