Default HELP

Hi,

I am wondering if anyone can help me. I have an Audi A4 1.8 Quattro, and the car is acting up.

1) At the moment, my central locking has gone, the interior lights dont come on, and when I take my key out it no longer turns the interoir lights on, and the car no longer is alarmed. EDIT I have changed all the fuses, and number two I cant open the boot, I have managed to get into the petrol tank to fill the car up.

2) I have for some strange reason a blue flashing LED in both headlights, I have tried to hunt this problem down, the only thing I have not done is pulled every fuse one at a time to see what the problem is.

3) My drive shaft broke so I got that replaced now my ABS is problematic at best, the light is always on, and if it aint the brakes feel rough as hell, but when the ABS light is on I have been told the brakes operate as normal brakes on any car (which would explain why they feel alot better)

With me living out in the outbacks I need my car, so I need this sorting ASAP, as I need the car as it is the only way I can do anything with me living so far away from a town or village, train station, or bus station.

Cheers for any help in advance

I would start with checking the fuses and the blue led's sounds like someone put them in there and wired it to the alarm. Which these led's could very well have a short and be the main problem. I would look into the lights and track the wireing down for them. The reason i think this is because i had installed them on 1 of my car's and the little black box that controls them started acting up from moisture.

I was wondering if they are a mod that came with the car, myself, what I am worried about is me taking the car to work, and finiding the thing completely goes on me in the middle of nowhere.

I have been trying to get it into a specialised, or a dealership, but no-one can take the car in for the next ten days, so I am kinda shafted.

Is there anything else it could be aswell?

Before spending $$$ at the shop.....

Pop the hood and look at the light.
You should see a few tiny wires attached to an led.
Follow them wires to a little black box, then follow the wires that are connected to that box.
Then disconect the wires from any ground and power.
Replace the blown fuse and you should be gold.

I am 99.9% sure that its aftermarket and its hooked up 1 of 2 ways.
1. switch inside the car. (under dash or something)
2. Wired to the factory alarm to go on whencar is off.

They would drill a hole just big enough to fit the led in and mount the control box someplace in the enngine bay. Once you get some light you should see all the wireing and can get it unhooked in about 15-30min. Then all you will need to do is find the fuse that poped and replace it. Good luck and post tomorrow with the results.
