HELP!
Ok, so I was reading in my owners manual (some of the only reading I will ever do) and for all the secondary modes that the transmission has when there's a problem, they still will allow the car to be moved forward. I think I might be in more trouble than I thought. Oh god I hope not. As soon as I get ahold of a car trailor, I'll be taking it to Sonora Imports who quoted me $100 or so to diagnose the situation at hand. They said it might just be the sensor that connects the shifter to the tranny or something like that...keep letting me know on what you may think the problem is.
OK, if you dont have a vag-com, just pull the negative battery cable for 5 minutes.
Then hook it back up and give her a go. That will at least kill the codes for you. If that doesnt do it, then either the jolt of the tranny made an electrical connection come lose somewhere, or you broke the tranny.
Good luck.

the tip and auto box is the same thing so what ever you do the system will compensate to prevent damage to the gearbox, tip and auto = play modes nothing more apart from a minor boost on take off and high revs through the gears so using the gears at the optimum rev range
If I unplugged the negative of the battery, would I have to reset anything? Well, I guess either way I'm going to have to do something, I think I'll try this tomorrow on my way to school, since Autozone is on the way (which is where my car is parked at)
So unplugging the negative battery terminal did nothing but put my radio in Safe Mode. Is there a diagram of how to pull the shifter surroundings off? Or where the sensors and plugs and whatnot are? Damn, I wish my car was in my driveway atleast, that would make trying to work on it somewhat easier
