anyone can diagnose this??

ac wont blow cold air...
heat wont blow hot air...

just now, in a thunderstorm , my car fogs up like im having sex with supermodels... the whole car.. luckily my rear defroster worked.. and i had a rag to wipe down the front..

please help.. i dont want to get raped at a dealership to daignose.. thanks

 

Listen for doors moving in dash when you change temperature.

You need air flowing through the heater core for heat , and evaporator for A/C. If doors are not in propper position heater and A/C will not work. Also listen for fan.

 

is there any other way to check for a problem under the hood?

 

the blower motor goes on those cars... It went in my dads 96, and I've heard of it happening in others as well... so yes, manually crank the fan to full blast, and listen... you should hear an assload of air rushing out of the vents... regardless of temperature. If you dont, I'd suspect your blower motor -- i think what kills it, is when the cabin air filter doesnt get changed... it gets all clogged, and has to work too hard.

 

definetly sounds like a blower motor problem if you are getting no air at all coming out

 

im getting alot of air...
its just that the ac isnt cold... the heat isnt hot...
and today for some reason, my car fogged up like crazy.. . nothing i could do to reduce the fog, (which turned to condensation)

 

are you sure they both went out at the same time? has it been a while since you've used either one?

 

yeah pretty sure it was close to each other.. it was towards end of winter that the heat started failing... and now the ac is failing...
