if it wasn't simultaneous it could just be your heater core went out, and maybe you're just running low on freon...

a place that refills a/c systems will probably check your freon level for free...they will indoubtedly tell you that youre running low, but if they tell you your system was empty, then you know that's why your a/c wasn't working.........if that's the case with the a/c, then the heater problem is probably your heater core, they're known to fail on older A4s..

OK... went and got a freon refill.. only thing is... the guy didnt know where the service freon was on my car.. he had to do it an umcoinventional way... Putting the freon in hot water, and shooting it thru the high pressure something.. told me that it was very dangerous and dont try it at home.. also told me that he wont be able to tell if its full or not.. so he jsut put 1 bottle in.. anyone know where the correct place to put freon in this car is??? thanks

i guess they were seperate issues after all.. thanks guys

glad to help....he did it the correct way, through the high side port...most cars have low side ports for refilling the systems....for some unknown reason, audi decided to leave that out when they made these systems...therefore we can't fill our systems on our own, we need to shops to do it....[:@]......let us know what the heater problem turns out to be

If you now have cold air, but no heat, check the coolant level, Also check for an airlock in the heater core by bleeding the system.

Check to see if there are any codes with a VAGCOM to see if there are codes in HVAC for flap valves that aren't redirecting air.
