I was recently driving my 2002 audi a4 cvt fwd and all of sudden the engine began shaking revs fell below 500rpms n it began to act like it would shut off Now the car is @ 91k miles out of warranty any idea what this could be...broke student....then check engine light was flashing..also i had a proble with the transmission sometimes works fine and other times it stays in auxilary mode with PRND flashing do u think this maybe too much work/expensive?

ur car is misfiring. get ur fault codes scanned for and u'll find out which cylinder(s) is/are misfirin. it's most likely ur plugs or coul packs. im guessing u have the 4 banger? the transmission fluid may need to be changed. u should be able to do these 2 by urself if ur a little mechanic savvy
