Help with CEL
Iboughta 1999 a4 2.8qabout 1 month ago, and the man I bought it from had records from a recent tune up, which showed that one of the o2 sensors was starting to go bad but there was no immediate problem. About a week after I had the car the CEL came on. The CEL would come on fora while and then go off. I got the code read at Advance Auto and they said it was the o2 sensor (bank 2, sensor 1). I had a member of the family who was able to get me a good deal on the part and he recommended I get it put on by one of his buddies (who is a mechanic that has his own shop and is legit). AfterI left the shop I noticed that the CEL was still on but I figured maybe after I drove my car it would reset itself. The CEL has not gone off since then and it is now 2 weeks later. The car does not drive differently but a little yellow light on you dash is enough to **** you off. What I want to know is should I get the code read again or should I just disconnect the battery? any help would be appreciated
Also when service oil comes on in the trip meter what does that mean? I checked the oil and it was low so i put a quart in and brought it up to the correct place but the service oil stillflashes across my trip meter everytime I start the car and is there for about 1 minute. I am only 2,000 miles since my last oil change. Is this something i can reset myself or should I have someone look at it??
Once again any help would be appreciated

You need to reset the code, if not the light will stay there.
The car is telling you it's time for a oil change. After you change the oil, you reset the counter, I believe it's all in the owners manual.
