Default Help!! Deal Ignition Coil

As the title says.... A couple of days ago I was driving down the road and my car started running horrible, sounded like it was missing on all but one cylinder and the check engine light was blinking! I went straight to autozone, which was on the way home and had them read the codes so I had some idea of what I was dealing with, said misfire on cylinder two, speed sensor malfunction, multiple cylinder miss. So I thought it was a bad ignition coil, fine things go bad. I replaced it. Didn't help, maybe the spark plugs? Replaced all four. Didn't help. Whats going on! So I put a plug in the end of the ignition coil and turn the car over to see if there is any spark, no nothing. So I try it on another cylinder just to see if maybe that test that worked for every 4 stroke I've worked on doesn't work on the audi, the other cylinder sparked. So I try a couple other ignition coils from other cylinders that I know work including a brand new one just to make sure and the wire that is connecting to cylinder two is defiantly not working. Now... where does that connect, its kinda hard to trace and if I had to guess by looking, I'd say the ECU. Does anyone have ANY idea or any direction to send me in. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks, John

Your problem is not the ignition coil.

it is the ignition control module.

you can find it on top the airbox.

Here is a test for it:

http://forums.audiworld.com/a4/msgs/1594531.phtml

Its common for cyl #2 not to fire is its bad.

Any import parts store will have one. there are a few different brands, any should be fine. When mine went about 10k ago, I bought a HUCO brand one, its worked fine for me so far. It was about $150 or so.

Classic ICM problem. They appear to have a soldering problem on the leads to cyl 2. A few years back someone took one apart and did a resolder to get it working again.
