Where was this ???
Anyone that cant tell you what it means is a total moron and i would never take my car to them!!!!
2nd it has nothing to do with the MAF !!!!!
99.9% of the time a lean condition will be cause at Idle because of a vacum leak in the intake tract !!!!
so start checking hoses out under the hood, mainly the FPR hose and all the small ones that are prone to ruptuting and heat rotting.
I've been a drivability and diagnostics technician for nearly 9 years and that where it ususaly ends up.
Also you would be surprised what a bad ground can cause !!!
i seen from fueling issues wit multiple codes to complete failure of components!
Agree with above. Check for either a good sized vacuum leak first. Check the vacuum hoses, and the one way check valves. Check that your airbox lid is on and tight. It could be MAF, but that would generally give you a problem with both banks. Could also be a plugged injector, or even an exhaust leak before the front oxygen sensor on that side.
Good luck on your hunt.

My CEL keeps going on and off took to autozone got the same code, it hasn't come back on for about 2 weeks now so I am not sure what's up. I am taking my car to the Audi dealer on Saturday to see what they think. I am kind of scared to take it to the dealer with my chip and exhaust in though

Sorry it took forever to write back on here... but the damn car died... when i went outside to go start it, it took forever to start it would just crank and crank and crank then start.....then i drove to the other side of town shut it off then when to start it again and this time it wouldn't start at all just crank. could this still all be caused by possibly the MAF sensor or something worse? im not sure what to do just pay the deductible on the warranty i guess.

Check for vaccum leak, unplug the maf, could be oxygen sensor pre-cat, hmmmm could be bad fuel PSI, could be bad injectors..
mianly the problem is a vaccum leak, or a oxygen sensor.. but the MAF's on audi are known to go out around that time

awesome guys!!!! thanks for all the comments about a vaccuum leak, it got me to look around the engine bay for a cracked hose and i found one that comes off of the engine compartment! went to auto zone got some hose and voila!! the light is off and the car is running better then ever.

i had the same with my 96 2.8 and am wondering what grade fuel you were using. At the time we just bought the car and my wife filled it with 87 octane which I believe triggered the same error code.
