Default Help a fellow A4 owner.

Does anyone know about any Audi mechanics in the Vallejo/Napa/Concord area in the San Fran Bay area? Or does someone live in Vallejo want to have a DIY session with my car... lol i really want to figure out why my acceleration is so SLOW. 0-60 in ~ 16 seconds??? It seems like there is something rattling in the engine in the form of a "rattling chain" sound. Got the car in July and had always had this problem and never really looked into it.. there arent any CEL lights or any types of problems with driving the car... So, anyone wanna help a fellow audi owner??? (PS i dont want to go to the dealership just yet. just trying to see my options before that.)

rattling noises that I can think of that will affect performance is a bad/cloggd catalytic converter, broken shaft in turbo/wastegate problem. The cat should set the CEL if its bad but i dont think the turbo/wastegate would if they are in the early stages of failure. Get your ecu scanned for fault codes first. Just because there is no CEL doesnt mean there arent any codes stored in the ecu that could point to your problem. Im betting $10 on a turbo issue. Sorry to say.

so a bad wastegate could lead to power problems and can probably be fixed for 10$?

haha... You wish... See if you can get a sound clip of the noise and post it here. Do you have a boost gauge? If not, get one, youll be able to see the health of your turbo easily with it.

how do u post sound
You can take a video with a digital camera and if your camera is cool enough it will record sound too.
Then you upload the file to a website that can host your sound/videos, like www.putfile.com and then post the link to it here.
