OK, i have a 2003 A4 tiptronic, non quottro... and when i got in my car about 20 minutes ago, all the gear selections on the display were blinking! what does it mean!? also, the car doesn't want to go when in drive until the rpms are up more than usual and it jerks to start going...... im reading the manual and i can't find anything. what does it mean!?!?!?!? [:@][&o]

 

i think that means the tranny has gone in to limp mode better get it checked out

 

wha ha ha..... i read somewhere else in the forums that if you drop a coin in the center console it can have something to do with it! well earlier i dropped some coins down there so right away i went and checked it out.... took the coins out and bam!!! no more fail safe mode... so now i have to drive it home cuz im at work about 20 miles from home, and hopefully it doesn't come back on! so right now im happy/scared for my car.

so i've driven her about 40 or 50 miles since the fail safe went off, and im still good. so, i guess that was the problem, hopefully it stays like that.

Mine blinks too I haven't checked out the coins though grr
