Default Help! Getting a new 2006 Audi A4!

sup guys.
I am very excited. my close close friend is getting a BRAND NEW 2006 Audi A4 from the Audi Dealer in NJ.
Well, it's not brand new. it's a corporate Demo car that has only 82miles on it.
Fully loaded. ALL PACKAGE is on it. for only $30K the car is 2006 A4 FSI 2.0T model. non-quattro thou.

She already put down a deposit of $500 and we test drove., engine is smooth, exhaust noise seems to be louder compare to my 1998 A6. shift smoothly. and engine goes as I step on it.
But now we come to mind is... the engine is loud. I mean when we are outside standing next to the front part of the car, we hear tick tick tick tick tick. . (clearly is the lifter ticking)
The saleman said it's normal, coz this year comes with new design of engine where it has direct injection and so on. so the valves and lifter is alot closer to the TOP of the engine. so the nosie is more clearer, noticable and louder.

So I asked him to start another 2006 A4 2.0T for us to hear. and yes, it's loud too. but somehow to us, it seems like when the hood is closed for the other 2006, the noise is like... almost gone..not too noticable.
But somehow the 2006 A4 we want to buy, when the hood is down, the ticking noise is more noticable.

I don't know if it is because the location of the car is different or not...but can someone shine some of their insight onto this! Thanks alot.
We are going to pay it and pick it up next week. so please HELP ASAP!
I greatly appreicated guys!
Gilbert

The 2.0T is a very "buzzy" engine. I've noticed the same thing, from the moment I first started it for my test drive. It tends to be more noticeable when the engine is cold (of course) and once the engine speed goes above idle all the other engine/intake/exhaust/turbo noise completely drowns it out.

Don't worry about it.

The hydralic lifters will make noise until the oil has completely entered the engine and lubed 'em up. It's normal, don't worry about it.

Or was this even after the test drive and just standing around listening to it after the engine was warm?

Sup guys.
I just went to the dealer and pulled the entire history of that car out.
So at first the saleman told us that this car is the corporate car demo, but now from the history of the car, it's a trainer car.
so , what you guys think???
Thanks all.
