Default HELP HELP

I just put on new brake pads and rotors. After driving home, I get out and smell a weak smoke. I smell one of the rotors and that is where it is coming from. I did have a hard time getting the caliper on for some reason. Even with the tool it did not retract back much. I see rings of scratching. Are my new rotors messed up. What should I do?

Did you do it yourself or have a garage do it? Is this the front or rear? Your caliper may not be retracting.
