HELP ON INTAKES FOR A4
I've gotten advice thru AudiForums that intake, exhaust, and GIAC would be the best first moves for my '04 A4 3.0 Ultra-Sport. What's the best brands for intakes and exhausts? I've heard Milltek for exhausts, and hyperflow for intakes. And is it worth getting a cold air intake rather than the short-ram? I had a CAI on my old Honda and it was better cuz of my body kit, etc. Still kinda new to the Audi mods. Thanks for any responses!
Carbonio only makes the intakes for the 1.8T. I have a 3.0. I think price would be similar between milltek and remus, right? Anyone else have opinions leaning one way or another? Any other ideas for intakes? I'm ready to add somethin' to get a little more of an edge.
intakes for a 3.0's are nearly worthless, intakes for audi's in general are said to be worthless, all audis already have a very freeflowing airbox. Though im not so convinced that they are so worthless for 1.8t, i would like to see the dino test.
p.s. cone intakes do make ur car sound awsome

You are going to see better gains with a 2.8/3.0 then you will with a 1.8t. Good intakes do add hp, even on the 1.8t. I have a evo, and am making another heatshield so i will have very little hot air to deal with. Buy a good evo or carbino and you will have gains.
wouldnt u have more gains on the 1.8t? intakes r ussually the first thing u do to turbo charged cars, with more air the faster ur turbo will spol up... what would be the great advantage to the 3.0?

U smokin crack if u think intake gunna make faster spool boyee.
exhaust , now that could help spool up to 500 rpms even
^^^ No, you are wrong. A intake will increase flow by about 5 to 10 gr/per sec. The turbo will breath better and spool slightly earlier/faster and hang on up top a bit longer aswell. There is just no big peak numbers, but u will have better throttle response.
There is not as many gains with the 1.8ts to 2.8s/3.0s because of the turbo placement. The intake puts off so much heat the intake sucks it up, loosing hp. You need a good heatshield to have some good gains, evo and carbino are both the best.Prolly carbino are the best.

well the chips not gonna give you much hp, because you have a n/a engine, intakes dont do much, and neithere does an exhause. you could SC it. but if you are looking for small inexpensive gains, it sounds like you are on the right track.
dude u can make a custom intake
