Default Help, Interior Door handle, paint peeling?

The paint is peeling in my interior door handles, Has anyone have this problem too? I am trying to take it out of the car so I can try to find a way to least remedy the problem but I am afraid it might brake and become worst.

It really makes the car seem old when you get in the car, but aside from that the cars great!

you can buy new ones at the dealer. they go from 20-40 buck each depending on which it is. The correct name I believe is a "finger plate"

I tried painting them. It's really not worth it. It ended up looking like crap since matching the color is very hard.
