HELP - Loaned A4 to teenager!!!
I lent my A4 to my teenage son last week, and he hit/ran over something. There is a panel hanging down from the front underside of the front bumper extending back under the engine. Looks like it was attached to a couple of arms under the engine. Now it's just dragging on the pavement... Any help on identifying what it is called so I can replace would be appreciated. Thx.
I don't know what is wrong with it but I have to ask why you would give your son your car?? That's what happens when they don't buy it and appreciate it. [:@]
Sorry for your trouble though. Could be something minor?

is it a black plastic plate that spansthe width of the car, and goes back about as far as the engine?
if so, its the splatter guard. just a few screws hold it in. they are the 1/4 turn lock screw thingies. shouldnt be a hard fix or jerry-rig

i agree. just crawl under the car and trial and error it to make it stay in place

If you are talking about the belly pan (big black thing) no big deal.............

there are little screws that hold it in place.. the kind that are half a turn to lock down.. you could get more from the dealership.. or get the W12 bellypan from the VW dealership.. The teenager in question probably just ran over some dead roadkill or something.. im sure its nothing to major
You could also just take it off, although I don't recommend running without it if you drive on rocky or snowy roads, its meant to help with aerodynamics(*giggle*) and help keep road objects like rocks from smacking key components like your oil pan.
Audi is the only car I've driven with an underplate like this one...
