Hahaha that thing is no joke.. My vote goes to the belly pan no big deal.. How did you feel when you handed those keys over to your son??? How did it make you feel when he came back with half your gas gone and a broken belly pan?

 

make the teenager crawl under there and fix it while you supervise.

Maybe if they have to pay for and fix their mistakes, they will be more careful.

If you just take care of it, you're not doing them any favors.

 

I can't beleive he did that. Im only 17 and just bought a 03 A4 Quattro 1.8T 5speed. But if I fucked up my dads Nissan Murano, I definitly wouldn't own a car right now and woulda got in a **** lot of trouble. But I suppose if it jumped infront of him and it was at night then its rather unavoidable and its better to hit it then swirve off the road and risk death or totaling of the car

 

Well accidents do happen, but the fact that it was an accident does not exclude someone from taking care of the problem.

It does warrant a little more understanding since it was not intentional, but still one should be responsible for the things that happen.

 

+1 on the kid fixing it. I was missing 2 of the screws in the back that attach to the hanging bracket, so i just drilled a small hole in the pan and zip tied it to the bracket and it works great.

 

Id hate to know what he was doing or how he was driving your car to make the belly pan come off!! Damn teenagers w/no resepect... Might want to check the condition of the oil pan if he bottomed out hard enough to cause the belly pan to rip off.

Youd be surprised what squirrels are capable of these days...
