Default Help me

Would it be hard to remove the engine from my 98 A4? I got into a bad accident about 5 months ago, totalled the car but only from the rear. Now ive found another A4 body with no engine in it, so i want to take the engine out of mine, take it to a mechanic and have them put it the right way. But for right now I need to take the engine, water pump, timing belt out of mine. I have already taking out the airbox, intake, but dont where to go from here. so please help.

if you have the right tools its easy... and if you take it to a mechanic... he should be able to do the whole job in less than a day... thats how long it took one to entirely swap out my buddies mustang V8 engine... the whole job only cost him $500... water pump and timing belt is really easy to undo...

Just take everything out in one piece. Shouldn't be too difficult, remove front end, unbolt the trans, disconnect all the wiring and unbolt the motor mounts. With the right tools, ie engine crane and air gun, anything is possible.

Just take a sawzall to the front of it, and to the front of the other one, and switch it...make sure you use enough duct tape, super glue, and stitch it up with a little bailing wire for extra strength, hahaha. Just don't lose the stuff you take out. TAKE PICTURES LIKE CRAZY! Oh man, if anything, that's the only thing I recommned

When I started at in our proto type shop first thing they had me do was R&R a problem engine. Taking everything apart is dam easy - its the going back together part that sucks

When my buddy did his engine swap, he put all the bolts and small parts into ziplock bags and labeled them all....it was tedious *** all hell, but he got the job done without any problems.
