HELP ME CHOOSE MY A4
Ok i have a choice of choosing anything from a 2001-2003 Audi 1.8T 2.8 3.0 help me choose one i dont know what to choose im thinking about the 1.8T 2003 or 3.0 2003 which one should i choose i have no idea help me get the facts about each one. Whats difference between just T no T and T Quattro
check the 1.8 vs 2.8 sticky at the top of the A4 page. Or do a search, this question has been asked and answered a million times before...Quattro is AWD a must have. T means turbo, no T means its the naturally aspirated V6...Hell just get the 1.8T.
I would go with either an 03 1.8Turbo or 03 3.0L...........If you want to mod ur ride for full performance then get the 1.8T since it has a lot of performance upgrades....if you want realibility then get the 3.0L although you cant really get much performance upgrades out of it.....
So I just spent the better part of a month doing the same sort of exercise - deciding whether to go with an 03 1.8T or an 03 3.0. I drove several cars of each model. I was impressed with the 3.0's performance, and less than impressed with the 1.8T - however I knew that with a little modifications, I could cheaply get another 50hp out of it. When you're rolling test drives - and A/Bing the cars - it's hard to tell whether the extra 50hp will make the 1.8T more bearable.
I'm coming from driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee with the 5.7L HEMI - so I'm used to getting thrown back in the seat, and pressing the GO pedal at any point, any speed, and feeling the power.
In the end - the 3.0 was the only car that felt like it had power all the way through. Sure you won't really be doing much in the way of performance mods - but that's not a bad thing. In my case - I'll be doing more interior mods [nav, tint, etc] so it's less money under the hood, and more inside for me to use.
I did about 200m in mixed highway/backroad driving yesterday. I love the 3.0. It's fast when you need it, and strong when you need it.
I'd go for the 3.0

if your thinkin bout an 03 get an 04. its got a 6 speed and is faster. o and 2 simple mods and ur ahead of the 3.0. but ya if your not that interested in modding your car performance wise def. go with a 3.0. its got respectable power and really reliable.
