Is the crank lined up or slightly off, if it is slightly off you may have started that way. You turn it to top dead center to release air pressure on the pistonsso when you take the belt off the crank doesn't turn. In most cases people sart out off.
If the crank is lined up move thebelt one sprocket over , use a vise grip to hold the belt to the crank sprocket compress the tensioner and move the belt over. it is possible the cam sprocket moved as the tension was applied and the crank srocket stayed stationary.
Even if it wouldn't bend valves, haveing the cam timing off can ruin the motor later.

I dont want to start it up and it be off... I dont know if I started off with the crank lined up or not. What I did was when the old tbelt was on I turned the crank so that the line on the cam sprocket lined up with the mark on the block. then I put a mark on the crank for reference. after I installed the new belt I turned it clockwise and the marks are off like you see..
what do you suggeset I do??????
Thank you
what do you suggeset I do??????
Thank you
I need help Quick should do it over again? Is theri any way to move the crank without removing the tensioner(so I dont have to drop $100) or do you suggest I do it over again????\
Thanks
Thanks
You can compress the tensioner and slide the pin back in. Dont do it over till you are possitive that your marks are both off. (crank & cam) Then make your adjustments by doing it over. If you do it over and just line the gears you may end up more off then before.
