ok so i'v read all i could on here about whitch one to get i have a 97' 1.8ta quattro most people are saying GAIC when APR's software is cheaper well here is why im in the middle my uncle is taking his car to clevland to ECS to have his chipped which isnt very far from where im at but at the same time the is a place down the street that dose GIAC chipping there numbers are 30-40hp gain while apr's are 40-50hp gain and apr want's $100 less but i see that more people say GIAC has a more ???????Aggresive feel????? when they should both be the same right!!!!!not only that APR offers more programs im leaning more towords APR but really cant make up my mind dose anybody have any input of what i should get

they both put out really similar numbers, both of which are exaggerated on their websites. and since when is APR 100 bucks cheaper? GIAC's chip seems to have more torque, while APR's has better high end power. APR also has a lot of add-on features, but they cost extra. if your going with APR wait till their holiday sale comes out, it usually involves getting a few options for free.

well the place down the street costs 500 for giac and ECS costs 400 with 1 program... so i mean but what would i want more high end power or more tourqe

at www.goapr.com you can buy a program ($500) and get a second program installed for free.

oh, just looked it up and APR's is only 400 for 97-99. thats cool.

and i dont know what you would want, you tell me...

In a quattro just ask if you want the ability to hit the gas a feel the torque, or if you want an even build up to the redline. The GIAC torque comes in hard and low in the rpms. The APR a bit higher and smoother? GIAC is good for freeway/everyday driving (LEGAL driving, not racing) as it gives good passing power around 3k...so no down shifts.

Who hear drive's Legal when a uglylime green honda trys to intimidate you..... i guess i want more acceleration i mean if the HP gains are the same i'll go with GIAC but those programs forAPR are very tempting.....i just wanna smash on the gas and fly past that ugly green honda

Get a speed chip for 125 and you'll be in same hp torque league

In the end they probably both accelerate the same , like would have damn near same 1/4 miles. Its just a matter of when full boost kicks in during the rpm's. Honestly if your gonna be racing from a roll I would assume apr would be best. Dead stop, Giac.
