I get in my car today (97 1.8TQM), start going, let it warm up a bit before i get into the boost.. There is no boost. I make a right turn in 2nd, give it some gas to see if theres boost, but nothing. Shift to third and the car bogs down really bad for some reason.That hasn't happened since though.Oddly, it runs really, really smooth but there is no power at all. I'm installing a carputer, so I unhooked and hooked up the battery alot last night, but didn't go anywhere afterwards. No CEL. I did leave my hood up today for like 10 minutes while it was raining lightly? But i don't think that has anything to do with it, just stating the variables. I searched and searched, but couldn't find anything that matched my symptoms. The turbo is a ko3 sport, which was put in about 10-15k ago. Could it be a really bad boost leak, N75, disconnected hose, bad DV? I can hear it faintly spooling up i think, but i get nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I am very worried about this. Thanks in advance.

 

is there no boost through the whole gear or just at low RPM's?

 

Whole gear. No boost at all, period.

 

might be stuck in limp mode...

 

I thought limp mode was only for DBW (Drive by wire)? I'm DBC (Drive by cable). Also, wouldn't there be a CEL anyways?

 

as far as rthe drive by wire or cable i couldnt tell you if its only the drive by wire that goes into limp mode but you will not always get a cel with limp mode...

 

Check for codes. If the car is in limp mode, that would explain no boost.

 

So limp mode is possible with a DBC?

 

i was thinking a little more about this and limp mode would actually be running a little boost right around 5 lbs..so you say your running no boost at all meaning 0 staying in vacuum the whole time??? if thats the case then i suggest bringing it to your mechanic A.S.A.P.. i would not be driving it around and trying to fix it yourself...

 

Well, unfortunately I don't have a boost guage, so i don't know exactly how much. But if any, it is VERY little.
