i have a question and i need help fast .. my car everytme i turn it on ... it shuts off and after i do it about 4 times it stays on and then when i drive the rpm keeps moving to 0-1500 .... and then when i shift to second gear i press the gas car has no power i press the gas all the way down n car still has no power and then out nowhere the car comes back .. but this is not only on second gear its on every gear and then when i stop on a stop sign or anything the car does the same thing it fells like its going to die and then it doesnt and the car is smoking some nasty smell ..... and its pissing me off .. cuz i just replaced my MAF ... and my CAT... which was universal but still ....PLEASE GUYS HELP . i have no idea what it can be ..[/align]

 

did you connect the wires on the maf correctly ?

check all of the connections around the airbox and maf area

Do the O2's connect the same way since this is universal?

 

universal cat ? what do you mean by that ?

 

yes the 02 sensor does conect the same .. but could it be that my o2 sensor is messed up .....

Arif.. i bought the cat on Autozone which is universal you know ......... Cat was welded ....... tthe only reason i bought it so cheap is because im selling the car to get a S4 but i cant sell the car like that /// ANy help ?

make sure the cat is installed in the right direction.CATs are a diertional flow honeycomb matrix. if it is installed the wrong way it will "choke" the engine and cause exactly what you are describing. Make sure the guy who installed did it correctly.
