Default Help Please

Hi,

I've a 1.8 A4 74k miles. Its behaving weirdly at the moment, if I drive for about 100 miles, or get stuck in traffic, the car starts to judder/ shake when I start off in 1st gear, almost as if its going to stall and I have to compensate by giving it more gas. On shorter distances its fine, but have noticed that revs are dropping when I start off in first

Anyone any ideas?

thanks

I had a similar problem on an old Ford that I had. It was caused by the MAF sensor. That car would run fine until you stopped in traffic and then it would shudder and stall when you would try to accelerate.

could be the MAF...

But first check all your vacuum hoses. There are a lot, and you will have to do some digging. I recently just found a very small leak in a hose leading from the N75 valve that was causing a shudder when I would slow down, or sometimes when I would accelerate from a stop.

Any check engine light? Could also be a bad o2 sensor. My car did something similar to that when they were bad.

Guys coudl it be his ignition coils? Cause when i had a similar problem, I took it to audi and they said that my Ignition coils #2 and #5 were messed up and they replaced them and since then no problems, however I do get a vibration (small) in the car. Still trying to figure it out, havent taken it to a mechanic to check it out yet.
