Default help please, headlights not working. wiring? selenoid?

I just picked up my 96 a4 today from the shipping depot after winning it on ebay. I love the car and was enjoying the hell out of it untill night fell and i discovered my headlights dont work (ebay seller somehow failed to mention this). I already had a brand new set of sylvania bulbs ready for it so I tried em out and still nothing.

Has anyone had this problem before? Please help, this sucks not being able to drive it the first night I get it! any suggestions at all

check the fuses. If its not that, I would guess it is the relay, in which case you would need to buy a new one. Dunno about wire being grounded out. If you need wiring diagrams or anything I can scan and post later.Good luck!

ah fuses.. first thing I should've checked. in my defense ive been too distracted with school to think.

if its not a fuse, will someone tell me where the headlight relay is.. is it difficult to replace and where would you all suggest purchasing it?

I had a single headlight go out and it was the actual port you screw the bulb into. It was corroded or something-->What the stealership told me.

Its on the left side of the drivers dash panel, to the left of the steering wheel.

There is a cover that you pry off with a screwdriver. Left side to left of instrument panel. On the side.

haha sorry about not telling you where the fuse box is. I was thinking, this guy prolly doesnt have the manual and won't find it but, forget to mention where it was. just check all the connections and wires in the housing......no idea where the relay is on this car, maybe somebody else can chime in. I have only done it on other cars.
